How to determine CBD quantity to use

When determining the best quantity of CBD for you, we recommend you start slowly, and gradually increase the amount over a 3-4 week period.  You may want to choose the number of mg per day based on CBD suggested use guidelines below for different situations or based on weight if you are using CBD for a pet.

A general rule of thumb for an adult is to start with 1/4 of a dropper one to two times per day, gradually increasing each week.  But some people may want to start with as little as 1 drop one to two times per day. For more detailed CBD suggested use guidelines, keep reading.

Number of CBD Milligrams (mg) per Bottle

First, it’s important to know how many mg (milligrams) of CBD there are in each serving of the bottle of CBD you have.  With HempWorx CBD oil, we have three strengths of CBD oil:

What is the best amount of CBD for you?

Every person is unique and metabolizes CBD differently.  The amount of CBD that is right for you may be different than for someone else.  The endocannabinoid system, the system with receptors for cannabinoids like CBD, complex and far from understood, but what is understood is that each person has a different endocannabinoid system, so while the instructions on a bottle of CBD oil may be clear, the quantity used may affect two different people differently.

Below are some general suggested serving size guidelines about CBD.  You will notice that some are fairly broad guidelines.  Ultimately, the best way to determine the right amount for you may be to start with a few drops, then gradually increase the amount.

• General Health: 2.5-15mg CBD oil daily
• Joint discomfort or for cartilage and joint function: 2.5-20 mg CBD oil daily for an average of 25 days
• Increase appetite: 1-2 mg CBD oil daily
• Movement problems: 10 mg CBD oil daily for six weeks
• Support immune function: 2.5 – 120 mg CBD oil daily for 2-15 weeks
• Help with maintaining normal mood: 40 mg or more of CBD oil daily for up to four weeks
• Relief of occasional sleeplessness: 40-160 mg CBD oil daily

For pets, place CBD Oil drops directly into pet’s mouth, or mix in water or food.  You can even put CBD oil on a pet’s paws or fur.  For our cat, we put drops of CBD oil on her paws or places on her fur where she grooms herself often.  The guidelines below are based on the HempWorx 250 mg CBD oil for pets.

•  Under 10 lbs = 1-2 drops (1/4-1/2 mg of CBD oil)
•  11-20 lbs = 4-8 drops (1-2 mg of CBD oil)
•  21-45 lbs= 8-12 drops (2–3 mg of CBD oil)
•  46-74 lbs = 16-20 drops (4–5 mg of CBD oil)

Which HempWorx CBD Oil is right for me?

We recommend the HempWorx CBD Oil 500 mg for people targeting general health results, and people who tend to be very sensitive to supplementation.  It depends on the person, of course, but many people do great with the HempWorx 500 mg CBD Oil and will never need the 750 mg.  If you aren’t sure which strength to start with, you can always try the 500 mg and then increase to the 750 mg or 1500 mg next time if needed.

Cumulative CBD Effect

CBD Oil effects are usually not instant.  Some people can feel its effects quickly, but many people make the same mistake – they only use CBD once in a while, expecting instant results.  CBD can take time and consistency to work, just like many supplements, and similar to your health issues, it won’t necessarily change things overnight.  An important key is finding the right CBD serving size.  The next is taking it consistently.

Some people get results in a few days or a week.  For others, it can take a couple of weeks to start feeling a difference.

Instructions for taking CBD Oil

For internal use, take the CBD oil drops sublingually.  Use the dropper to place the CBD oil under your tongue.  Hold under your tongue for up to 30 seconds.
